Hägernäs Strand
Hägernäs Strand is a modern suburb in Täby about 16 km north of Stockholm city, Sweden. The area is situated directly on the coast in the inner archipelago of Stockholm and offers good opportunities for walks along the coast and in the Skavlöten natural reserve.
Housing development
The housing development started in 2001. The area should be fully developed by early 2013. It will then have fifteen cooperative housing societies with close to 800 apartments.
The "Catalina"
The area was before the second world war home of a flotilla of seaplanes and later base for airborne sea rescue. The Catalina aircraft (Consolidated PBY-5A) has lent its name to streets, activities and other things in the area.
